SUPPORT STACI 
The Adaptive Sports Foundation estimates Staci will need to raise $200,000 to compete at the 2014 Games. Although they are part of the U.S. team, Paralympics athletes face considerable costs, including special equipment, airfare and food as well as travel for training and competing prior to the Games. In Staci’s case those costs increase incrementally because she must train and compete with a guide.
Staci understands that the last few years have been economically stressful for both individuals and the business community. Yet she believes that in supporting her vision of competing in the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia, those who help will be supporting more than just one skier.
“I’m going to represent our country, state, community and my school. I plan to work very hard to do well and I think it will be beneficial for those who support my efforts to be part of what I achieve. I also think it will help any business that supports me because they will gain community goodwill by publicizing that support– and because I plan to represent them well.
“Equally important, by achieving this vision of going to the 2014 Games and being successful once there I hope to bring greater awareness of the talents and potential of people with disabilities and of the Paralympics.
“My goal is to become the #1 visually impaired skier in the world.”
